When we talk about alcohol, normally we refer to ethanol, which is omnipresent in our world. And it s not just about alcoholic beverages. Every time when saccharated solutions get in touch with the air and its´ microorganisms, a small quantity of ethanol is produced. This happens, for example, when the skin of a grape is ripped and liquid pulls out. The liquid contains glucose that serves as a natural nutrient of the ever-present barm. As a consequence, a metabolic process starts and leads to alcoholic fermentation.
